Performing Arts Character Building
There are many various ways and means of acting. Learning relaxation techniques can really enhance an actor’s performance because the body can prepare for acting properly. Relaxation techniques can prepare the posture and breathing before a performance. If a person is tense then this will show in their performance.
The voice and body have to be connected and as an actor you have to be aware of how the voice and body work all the time you are in character. Acting is not as easy as it may appear you have to have a strong psychological awareness of your characters needs and requirements. You have to bring a certain energy to your character and I think the most important part of acting is believing in your character. To do this though you need to get your character to a stage where they become real. You have to research and work with your character building up your characters background and personality. You have to find out who your character is and create a real autobiography and portfolio of your characters life and events.
Acting is very much about self expression you have to be able to present yourself in a way that you have stage presence. Some actors only get one part and fail to get others because they do not have stage presence. They cannot present themselves in a way that is appealing to others. Personality can mean a great deal in the world of performing arts.
